Not being pessimistic

Do not take me as a pessimistc person.Its just that I use harsh negative events and realitys because that is what people remember. Does anybody remember any of the good stories on the news? How many lives were saved say in an earthquake thanks to a group of people? But everyone remembers 9/11. I don't know why by people remember bad events more than the good.
