Applying for internships is stressful.
I'm trying to apply for one in New York and that is turning out harder than I thought. The reason why New York instead of Califonia, DC, or in my college is bc I have things planned out for the summer, and I can't do it unless I'm in New York. But every internship ask for something different. Filling out the forms I mean. Some of them are repetive and ask the same thing 10 times. Others just want a simple resume and cover letter. This is actually the first cover letter that I've written. It feels very professional, like I'm applying to a real job. And then comes the task of finding them. For every one I find, I get 3-4 dead ends.
But the reason why I want an intership is because I don't want to be in other job serving people, customer service. I HATE customer service with a PASSION. The reason why? I don't like serving ppl and I don't like serving assholes even more. And I feel jobs like that are a waste of my time and talent. I rather be paid for my thought rather than repetive labor. And it frustrates me when I can't,so much. There is no growth or advancement in those jobs, and I want to go somewhere. And they pay for those jobs are also better. But even if it wasn't, I would still rather do a job that forces me to think rather than some physcial labor job.
So I will be very dissapointed if I don't get an internship this summer working at some company doing Java or some type of programming. I'm ready to get my life going here, I just need an oppurtunity now.
